Our Vision
The Georgia Alliance to End Homelessness advocates for immediate and long term solutions to:

- Homelessness, lack of affordable housing, and policy at the state, local and national levels.
- Lack of awareness among policy makers and the public about the realities of homelessness and Georgia’s housing needs
We are proud to foster communication and build local coalitions among homeless service providers, advocates for affordable and fair housing, tenants rights advocates, low income and homeless people, funders, and government officials. In addition, we advocate for the availability of funding, training and technical assistance for homelessness service providers across Georgia.
Shelters in Georgia can currently house only ~50% of the state's homeless individuals and families. As long as there is a shortage of jobs and affordable housing, there will be homelessness - but there is undeniable hope for a brighter future.
Just last year, the Georgia Alliance and its regional offices:
- Placed over 3,000 homeless individuals into temporary shelters until permanent housing with a provider could be arranged.
- Referred more than 51,000 homeless or at risk individuals
to service providers for assistance. - Made 14,640 trips for homeless individuals to meet transportation, shelter, jobs, training, and childcare needs.
These are just some of the steps taken by the GA Alliance to eradicate homelessness throughout the state. We appreciate your concern for the plight of homeless individuals in Georgia and hope that our site will become your main source for information on homeless issues.
We invite you to consider membership in the Georgia Alliance to End Homelessness - because homelessness is far more complex than an individual's choices.
